Groton is located between the major metropolises of New York and Boston, making it a convenient New England vacation destination. Bluff Point State Park encompasses over 800 acres of peninsular land and offers prime hiking, biking and shell fishing opportunities. The U.S. Navy Submarine Force Museum is a popular destination in Groton, as it is home to one of the finest collections of submarine documents, photographs and artifacts in the world. Every June Groton celebrates Greenway's River Festival, which commemorates the Nashua River and features live entertainment, cardboard canoe races and crafts.
